Jindie Nails Winter Chic!! Part 1 of 3

Hello everyone!!!
I know I have been totally MIA but, I have reason!! I need to pass this chemistry class I am taking so I have absolutely zero time to sit and write! I HATE IT!
SOMETHING EXCITING!!! I HAVE A DSLR AND A PRETEND MACRO LENS!! PREPARE TO BE AWED!  I may not be the best photographer but these photos are definitely a step up from before :) 



Anyhow~ Jindie has sent me more of her LOVELY LACQUERS!!! And all but two are Crellies :D 
Don't know what that is? Neither did I, a crelly is a cream based polish that is sheer (like a jelly) but also has glitters suspended within it. What is the reason for this? To make YOUR life easier! Jindie wants the polish application process to be fast and easy. We know that not everyone has time to apply a base coat, two layers of lacquer and then a glitter top coat and then a NORMAL top coat!


Application on these first four was fabulous! I love the consistency and all photos (unless otherwise noted) at at two layers of polish. They are sheer but if you want absolute opacity another coat would do the trick :) 

Strawberry Cupcake and Barbies Have More Fun are the first two I will be featuring!
Strawberry CUpcake is an ADORABLE light pink crelly polish with shifting purple/blue glass flakes in the base. It has a wonderful mix of glitters ranging from small white hexes to large white hexes, small pink to medium blue and a few other sizes and some purples thrown in the mix. Application was ok. Nothing too horrible. Went completely opaque in two coats. NONE of the other crelly polishes did that. I love the way the large hexes Work in the mix. Nothing too too crazy but absolutely adorable if you are in the need of a princess moment :) 

And now for Barbies have more fun... more sheer but just as pretty! 
This was much easier to apply evenly, the glitter sits more prominently on the nail. The polish flows evenly across the nail and the glitters do not float around aimlessly. There is a slight ridging of the actual glitter but no one can tell unless they are STARING at the polish super close up. For all intensive purposes, pretend they don't exist. No One will ever notice them on your nails.

So, That is all I have photos of at the moment!! More swatching for me in the near future (there are four more lacquers in the collection! YOU BETTER BE EXCITED! )

Mini Candle from B&BW!!

Hey everyone!!


     I recieved the most adorable thing on the planet as part of my Beauty Blogger Vox Box... A MINI CANDLE!!! I LOVE CANDLES AND I LOVE B&BW!!! (can you tell??)
Guess who was a happy camper when the mini candle even happened to be one of her FAVORITE SCENTS!!! I also recently was given a DSLR so now I have awesome photos to share with you guys of my pretty candle burning!

Another bonus is that there really is no need to light these cuties up! They smell just as strong without ever putting a match to them. Why is this wonderful? For house holds with little kids there is no danger of fire (I have younger siblings and remember these issues vividly!)

Isn't it beautiful??? It smells wonderful and I can't help but need more. I have already purchased 4 others (that are being saved until after thanksgiving!!) and I might be working at Bath and Body works for the holiday season so... OOps... I guess there goes part of my pay check XD

Previse Skin Care REVIEW!!

I am back (not really) 
Quickie update, I have been on a bit of a blog hiatus because I am applying to colleges for my bachelor's degree. It is a pain in the but to do but I have to write a million and one essays to apply to each school and a million more so I MIGHT have some money to go to those schools!!!
So, it is eating up all of my blogging time, and for that I apologize  I have not forgotten but instead have been crazy stressed!  My skin has taken a beating because of it but this set was there to see me through!

     This is a review of the Previse skin care line. It is a concept similar to that of Skin ID or any other quiz based classification line. Where does it differ from the other lines? Ingredients!

If that doesn't sound awesome I don't know what does. Now, that is a lot of talk..but do the products deliver? When I started using these products about two months ago I was doubtful how well a set picked based on a quiz would work for my skin. Some algorithm is going to pick out my facewash? Oh god!

What I recieved was a bottle of Purify, Nutrify and Defend. Here are their descriptions of the products before I go and tell you guys what I think!

1st - Replace your current cleanser with Previse Purify. As a first step, Purify aids in gently removing dead skin cells, excess oil, and other contaminants from your skin. So, again, sounds amazing? I personally LOVE the set. I was categorized as type 3. Purify is a wonderfully invigorating face wash that smells minty and feels fresh. It leaves my skin feeling clean but I do feel that I need a good scrub down once or twice a week. 

I have taken to using a makeup wipe before washing my face to make sure that all of the makeup goes bye Bye! It foams wonderfully and does not feel like it leaves anything on your skin after you wash it off.

Nutrify was an odd product to me. You are instructed to take 5 drops in the palm of your hand and then rub your hands together to emulsify the product. You gently apply it to your skin and it should feel damp.
Huh?
Ok, well that does not make sense in comparison to MOST step 2 products. I think of a toner as my step 2...not some serum like product. 

It does leave the skin feeling very nice, it has a nice chamomile scent to it! I love the bottle which is glass with a dropper cap. 

Defend. Defend feels dry to my skin, I had been using an oil based product for my skin for a few months when I started to use this product. I still do not feel that my skin has completely compensated for the change. It smells wonderful, like the first two products combined. The company does say that it is "Pre-sun" but I put on a suncreen product anyhow. I think that I would want a heavier product now that we are going to be heading into the winter months. 

Overall verdict? I LOVE IT!! Why will I probably never order again and go back to my sucky face washes once I am done? The price!!!
This is not by any stretch of the imagination a bargain brand!!!!!!!!!!! The moisturizer is $48! 

The set total is $130?? O.O

I am sorry. As much as I adore this set, it costs almost as much as a text book!!! As a college kid I spend that much on food for more than a week!!!
I wish more than anything that I could afford this. But there is no way it will happen. For those of whom can afford these products, PLEASE DO IT!! They will change your skin forever!! I will unfortunately not be repurchasing in the future. I will have to go back to my less than perfect skin and not quite as smoothy smoothness of my face :(

Jindie Nails Christmas collection Santa Claws!!! PICTURE HEAVY!

(pretend I am saying this in a scottish accent...it will make it all the more"Holidayish")

This is a special post for a very special polish maker Jindie!!
 She makes the most wonderful glitterbombs and this collection is no exception. I will be including swatches and application tips for all of the 7 polishes I was sent. There are however, more colors in the collection. Look at her cute packing!! (they come in little foam shipping baggies...not just in tissue paper)


ALL of the ones I was sent!!! Notice on the full sized bottles that the labels match the tissue paper and ribbon!


The first few I will be sharing are all to be worn on their own. I have one of the two holo polishes! Mrs. Claws and two of the three? cream glitters Candy cane and a true blue jelly Silent night!!!

Mrs. Claws!!
Easy to apply, no visible nail line with one coat. Deeper color with two coats. Very holographic. It has been updated since I was sent these polishes. As I understand it is now much more holographic (SCORE!) but still the same color. (Awesome!) So, that means that the version currently available is even more amazing than what I was sent. (Kind of jealous of everyone who orders now....) Application was perfectly smooth. No bubbles of any kind, does not highlight any inconsistencies of the nail plate. Overall awesome pink holo polish. :D

Just a quickie comparison... Mrs. Claws on all fingers with Hits no Olimpo Hesita on thumb. Why? So I could see (and share with everyone else) the difference between the two kinds of holographic pigments. Personally I LOVE the one used in Mrs.Claws!!! It is a more golden finish versus the more silver finish of the old holo pigments.  
True Blue Jelly Time!!!!! Silent Night. So So So pretty!!! It contains large silver hexes, holo silver stars and moons and little silver hexes and a pretty purple shimmer to top it off!!
Application wise it was a bit fussier than some of the other jellies I have used. It did not require a lot of fishing for shapes and I did get a relatively good variety with each dip into the bottle but it was hard to keep things even sometimes. That was not, however, what bugged about this polish. If there is one thing that drives me bonkers it is when a star glitter's tip pokes out of my polish. IT DROVE ME NUTS!!! But I will still wear this polish again as it gets nearer to holiday time because it is so pretty!!!

Candy Cane!!! I love it!! 
It contains large red hexes, medium red and green hexes, and lots of little red and green micro hexes!
This polish is my second favorite in the collection. Of what I received of course! As a self professed holo junkie I would have HAD to have chosen Blue Blue xmas and Mrs.Claws as my two faves if I had gotten both of them :)
It was super easy to apply for a cream glitter, BUT you do have to store it upside down and roll it between your palms VIGOROUSLY to make sure the glitters are properly interspersed within the bottle. Clean up isn't horrid and you get full opacity in about two coats. You can speed up achieving maximum opacity by using a milky base coat. Everyone who saw my nails while I was wearing the three polishes mean to be worn all by their lonesome wanted to know EXACTLY WHERE THEY COULD PURCHASE THEM!! So I directed them to Jindie's etsy shop :)

Glitters!!!!!!!!!!!!  YAY!!!!
I received four fun holiday glitters!!!!!!!!! Here they are :)

Just elfin around, Noel, Holly and Santa Claws!!
They were all relatively fish free. They did not settle at all (except for holly, there was a bit of settling with the white micro hexes). I think people who like the whole Floam deal will love Noel! It is all micro hexes with a similar density. Full opacity in about two-three coats. If you wear it with a school glue base and you can peel it right off!

Glitters are a PITA to get off but we all know what we are getting into when we put them on.
First off... Just Elfin Around. It does contain holo medium green hexes and holo large silver hexes. There are a few reflective curling glitters but nothing I can't handle. They lay absolutely flat on the nail so I wouldn't worry too much about it if I were you!

Women certainly aren’t the only ones who crave a beautiful groomed look! Men nowadays are starting to recognize the importance of manicures, masks, scrubs, and even eye cream. The average amount of time men need in the morning is between 15-30 minutes- that's almost the same as women!

Metro-Sexual Yesterday

Throughout history, men have always been body conscious- you often found them working out or doing sports, but skincare was usually low on their priority list. The focus generally was on shaving, anything more was not really important in their minds.

However in the 1960s, things started to change, as men began seeking facials and dark circle treatments, which brought about the term “metro-sexual.” These are tough men who also pay special attention to their appearance. David Beckham is an example of this in today’s society. According to a recent survey, out of 50,000 men, 60% feel that a neat appearance is very important, which also explains the increase in sales of men’s products.

Products for men are catered specifically to the needs of their skin, as it differs from that of women:

• Men’s skin about 20% thicker than women’s
•  It requires much lighter products (such as gels, emulsions, etc.)
• It has much higher blood circulation and has a firmer elasticity, making the aging processmuch slower for men
• It has larger pores and produces much more sebum, which is from the testosterone hormone

Here is what we figured out about men:

• They dislike a glossy/greasy appearance
• They want easy/simple to use products that absorb quickly
• They prefer very light scented products
• They want products to work efficiently

What are some skin care products for men?

According to an RLO survey men prefer products with natural plant substances. Since their skin is a lot more resilient they need stronger products compared to women. The top product categories for men are razors, face creams, deodorants, shower gels, and hair styling products. Sounds simple enough? Think again! Men produce sweat faster and stronger than women, therefore they need deodarant to regulate their ph levels and prevent odor and sweat. Anti-Transpiranten is the perfect solution.

Guys really like their hair! The perfect hair products are things like wax, gels, and thickening creams. Men usually produce dandruff so be sure to use a clarifying shampoo once a week to remove excess product build-up.

Shaving is one of the biggest concerns for men. Since most shave the skin on their face on a daily basis, it is important that they take special care in choosing products. Many shaving cream products contain perfume or alcohol, which can really irritate certain skin types.

When it comes to shaving, preparation is key. Be sure to allow the hair to protude far from the skin to avoid irritaion and to guarentee a closer shave. Special products for this are usually labeled as “pre-shave” and sometimes contain alcohol depending on preference. During wet-shaving, the hair should be allowed to soak prior to shaving, and shaving cream also helps soften the hair. The right blade is the most important part of shaving so be sure to choose the right type of blade for your preference.

Once you are done shaving, be sure to use your favorite after-shave product. For oily skin, look for a light after-shave lotion to soothe and refresh the skin. For sensitive skin, look for a gentle balm to soothe irriation and one that absorbs quickly. For dry skin look for one that contains moisturizing properties. Normal skin types can rely on the light after-shave gel, which also absorbs quicly and feels really refreshing.

Today, most shaving products are already provided with easy care ingredients, sometimes even with anti-inflammatory and skin soothing agents to prevent razor burn. Special creams also help preventively, so hair grows back at a slower rate.

NuNAAT Brazilian Keratin Hair Care Review and Giveaway :D

Hey gals!!!
So excited to do this review!! I love NuNAAT (and they are totally based in MIAMI!) and all of their products. I contacted them after a friend had raved to me about how amazing their hair cremes are. Little did I know that I would recieve and ENTIRE line from them.
The Brazilian Keratin Line :D

        As you guys may or may not know my only hair issue is that my hair has an odd layer or super coarse hairs sprinkled throughout.
What does the Brazilian Keratin Line come with that is perfect for me?
      The Liquid Keratin Leave-in Reconstructor with green keratin!! It deposits a layer of green keratin that builds up over time to slowly smooth out your hair!The heat of the blow dryer activates the Keratin complex. I won't get anymore Chemistry Kid on you guys but still!!! This not only is an awesome concept. IT WORKS!!! You *pour* a little bit into the palm of your hand, gently massage it throughout your towel dried hair starting from the ends. Then you gently blow dry your hair :D I am in love with this product. But I haven't seen it since I came back from a sleep over.... I am a bit worried I left it. And they kept it. Because it is so amazing >..<
(ITS OK.. I will be able to deal.. maybe..probably not..I might have to go buy myself one...even though I really don't have money to blow right now..)
     The Deep conditioning Shampoo and Conditioner are pretty rockin too! I don't LOVE them with all my heart. But that is because I LOVE a shampoo that I can use almost none of, get an insane lather and still only have to wash my hair twice a week. Its a quirk of mine. But I do like these two quite a bit. They smell lovely, a sweet soft kind of earthy scent. People who are around me when my hair is freshly washed love it. But no one has been able to quite bop the scent on the nose quite yet. If anyone has smelled it..let me know?? I WANT IT IDENTIFIED!! PRONTO!!

The last two products are the Deep Conditioner and the Smoothing Serum aren't as amazing as other products I have used in the past. The deep conditioner is only a bit more intense than the regular stuff. Which is great if you use it twice a week in the shower and have finer hair than me. But again. I like the strong stuff. While my younger sister, who has a helluva head of thick curly hair, loves it to death. I find myself at just Mehhh. But if you have curly hair you could probably get away with using this as a normal conditioner with the shampoo. She does..sometimes..
The smoothing serum smells just like the rest of the line. But I actually find it to be too heavy for my hair straight out of the bottle. I have to rub my hands together like I am trying to start a fire!!! And then it thins out enough for me to use it without my hair getting super greasy. All I use it a dime sized amount for the entirety of my thick longer than shoulder length kinda straight hair. Its potent. And there is no denying that.

Overall? I would give this collection a 4.5 out of 5.  They smell great. Leave your hair feeling soft and minimize frizz.
I would totally give someone the go ahead to spend some money on these products :D
